Howard “Butch” Kerzner, head of hotel and casino operator Kerzner International Holdings LTD., died on Wednesday after the helicopter he was in, among three other people, crashed in the Dominican Republic.
The helicopter crashed near Puerto Plata’s resort, together with Kerzner, the two pilots and another passenger died according to a company spokesperson. "It is with great sadness that the entire company mourns the tragic loss of Butch Kerzner," the company said.
Kerzner, 42, and his father Sol, recently leaded a $3.2 billion buyout of their company. Butch Kerzner told the press last month that the company was eyeing Las Vegas for a multibillion-dollar potential project.
