China strengthens its battle against Internet hazard games

More than 350 criminal prosecutions took place in China due to illegal activities related to online hazard games, which were discovered by the ministry of Public Security during 2005, according to a report developed by governmental authorities.

Now Chinese authorities are working really hard in order to inform Web surfers about current Internet legal regulations with regards to online gambling. In 2005 more than 700 people were arrested for being connected to these illegal activities.

Online hazard games, pornography, intentional propagation of computer viruses, and hackers are some of the most serious problems that China is experimenting nowadays, according to the report.

The ministry of Public Security and its offices in some of the main cities have established specific web pages to inform Internet users about online crimes. Moreover, the ministry is working to inform web surfers about Internet legal regulations, in order to create a more organized environment for the use of this service.
